About Campfire Weekends – Tent only camping in East Sussex countryside (Near Tunbridge Wells)

The aim is to capture the essence of a good village pub and replicate it on a tent only campsite.  Somewhere people can come in small groups, as couples or, even, on their own and feel comfortable.  A place where one can either join in a lively conversation with other campers or simply enjoy the atmosphere in a quiet corner of the site.  In order to keep unwanted noise to a minimum we have a lower age limit of 21.

With numbers restricted to around 30 campers (tents only) at any one time so space should be plentiful.  Campers will be free to choose where they wish to pitch within the camping field.

Private campfires, which can also be used as a BBQ, can be hired .  These are specially designed wood-burning grates, with ashtray and removable grills so that campers can enjoy their own log fire near their tent and, if they choose, cook their breakfast, lunch or supper.  We do not allow open fires on the ground or disposable BBQs on site as these would damage the ground.  All fires must be kept at least 2.5 metres away from any tent or other flammable objects.

Our site is at Great Danegate Farm in East Sussex, 5 miles south of Tunbridge Wells.

We charge £13.50 per person per night.  Our prices reflect the fact that we are a small scale, low density site, open at weekends only (Friday and Saturday nights, extended on bank holiday weekends). Unlike many sites, we do not insist you book for two nights for a weekend stay.  Arrival time on Friday is 12-7pm and on Saturday anytime from 9am.  Check out time is up to 5pm on either day. Indeed, you are very welcome to arrive at 9am on Saturday and leave at 5pm on Sunday, thereby making the most of your £13.50.  And we do not charge extra for cars.
